YSN PRESIDENT Kathleen Perry Kathleen was born on spiritual ground in Ketchikan, Alaska. She grew up on the West Coast, living in Washington State and California. After moving to Michigan with her husband and two children in 1991, Kathleen discovered the gift of yoga and knew she wanted to share it with others as a teacher. She became certified by Jonny Kest in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, PreNatal and Healthy Backs yoga. She also has studied with many great teachers including Tim Miller, David Swenson, Doug Swenson, Rod Stryker, Ana Forrest and others. Kathleen is a member of Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapists. In 2002, she moved to Franklin, Tennessee. After her unsuccessful search for a local studio to practice Ashtanga/Vinyasa yoga as she knew and loved it, Kathleen decided to open her own yoga studio. In May of 2004 Franklin Yoga Center was born. She now conducts 200-hour Yoga Alliance teacher training courses, and teaches yoga around Middle Tennessee. Kathleen enjoys teaching in a style that keeps it fun and therapeutic yet challenging, all with a dose of West Coast love! Her family includes a loving husband, three beautiful children, two frisky dogs and one sun-loving cat. Kathleen and her adventurous spirit has taken her to the stage of the Miss USA pageant as a finalist, to the skies as a flight attendant with Alaska Airlines, and to the football fields as an NFL Cheerleader. When she's not in the yoga studio, Kathleen enjoys reading, traveling, bike riding, and spending time with her family and friends.
